40 wall pieces inspired by the bleached, skeletal remains of coral reef colonies.
Ocean reefs are dying faster than they can regenerate in response to changes in climate, water levels and temperatures. The saline content of water, and significant changes in natural and healthy co-species also contribute to the loss. Although the death and subsequent bleaching of coral reef habitats is devastating, the skeletal structures left behind are eerily beautiful, very tactile, complex and visually compelling.
This work combines hand-built elements with slip-casting. All work is porcelain, fired to cone 6 in oxidation. Scale varies, ranging from 3 x 3 inches to 10 inches in length. Please email with inquiries for purchase.
